DIY Laundry Soap

Laundry Soap

  • 2 bars Sunlight laundry soap
  • 36 oz (2 lb) borax
  • 53 oz (3.3 lb) washing soda
  • 8 0z (1 c) baking soda
  • 680 g (1.5 lb) OxiClean

Chop the bars of laundry soap with the OxiClean in a food processor. The soap should be chopped into small granules. Mix all ingredients together and store in a large plastic container. Use 2-4 Tbs for large loads and 2 Tbs for small loads. I personally use 4 Tbs as we have crazy hard water and need the extra cleaning power. The first time I used this I sprinkled it on top of the laundry of dark clothes, the very top ones where the powder sat while the washer was filling discolored slightly. For dark loads I dilute the soap in water first and pour it in the bottom before adding the clothes. This laundry soap smells fantastic and cleans as well as commercial laundry soap. Let me know how you made out šŸ™‚

(note: the Sunlight laundry soap is missing from the cover picture, I forgot to take the picture before I made the soap.

Happy cleaning!
